Youth Climate Adaptation Action Day - Global Center on Adaptation (Staging)

The Youth Climate Adaptation Action Day, organized by the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) on the 12th of October 2024, is the largest-running annual youth adaptation event taking place in over 100 countries around the world. This day is dedicated to mobilizing, showcasing, and celebrating the potential of young people to innovate and accelerate climate adaptation solutions. Youths across the world are invited to participate in this day of climate adaptation celebration

The Youth Climate Adaptation Action Day will:

Build the youth adaptation movement with schools, universities, and youth organizations.
Raise awareness and increase the knowledge of young people on climate adaptation.
Drive knowledge sharing for youth-led adaptation actions in Africa and around the world.

My Climate Adaptation Solution Video Competition

Are you between 18-35 years old and leading the fight against climate change? Have you developed an innovative and creative adaptation solution? Share your adaptation solution with the world by entering your one-minute video in the My Climate Adaptation Solution Video Competition. The competition closes on the 26th of September 2024.

The winners will be announced on 11th October 2024 by the CEO of the Global Center on Adaptation. Public voting opens on the 30th of September and closes on the 7th of October.

To enter, submit your video to the Google Drive using the following steps:

Name your Submission: The video should be titled: Participant’s name_Title
Access your Google Drive.
Upload the Video File: Locate the ‘New’ button on the left side of the Google Drive. Select ‘file upload’ and click the video file you want to select.
Monitor the Upload: Wait for the file to appear on the Google Drive.
Share the Video: Open the video file, click the three dots to the right and select ‘Share’. Copy the link and ensure that the access level is set to ‘Viewer’.

What is so often lacking is the will and determination to stick to the task. And that is where young people come in. This is why we need the energy, the drive, and conviction of young people to keep the policy makers and implementers honest. Your voices on the adaptation agenda are underutilized.
